A History of Service
Cornhusker Hearing Center was founded
in 1986 by
Ray Rosenow, BC-HIS* and his wife,
Shirley Foreman Rosenow. Ray began his career in 1976 at Flatirons Hearing Aid Center in Boulder, Colorado under the supervision of Jack Glasgow, BC-HIS. Today, he is the owner and president of Cornhusker Hearing Center.
Ray attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in
Lincoln for four and a half years, completing one of those semesters at
the University of Nebraska, majoring in music, with a minor in speech.
He gave private music lessons on clarinet and saxophone at a local music
store. He also led a thirteen member dance band during his college years.
Shirley and Ray were married in March of 1960.
They raised four children and have numerous grandchildren. Shirley succumbed
to ovarian cancer in 1987.
Ray is board-certified in hearing
instrument sciences (BC-HIS) with the International Hearing Society. This means
that he's an expert at evaluating hearing loss and fitting hearing
instruments. He holds Nebraska Hearing Instrument Fitting License #413, and is past President
and served on the board of the Nebraska Hearing Society.

Carey Cook is Cornhusker Hearing Center's Senior Partner and Business Manager, although he wears many hats in addition to his daily administration duties. Carey draws on his vast experience in different areas of expertise. For example, Carey was in the jewelry and watch repair field for a number of years. His training in intricate and precise watch repair and jewelry and precious gem design qualifies him for his sometimes daily routine of hearing instrument technician which involves fine tuning, repair and cleaning. Carey also has a sterling history in the wholesale and retail industry which included managing such retail giants as Shopko and Fred Meyer as well as serving as district trainer in customer service and educational products for FAO Schwartz of New York City, the nations largest toy outlet. Carey's list of experience also includes public relations and fund raising work with charities, churches and local groups and organizations, which helps with another hat Carey dons each day, that of raising the level of awareness of hearing disabilities and the positive benefits for hearing rehabilitation through Cornhusker Hearing Center's numerous Outreach programs. Carey is also a gourmet cook and the father of two teenage boys.
Ray & Carey are honored to be part of a profession that plays such an important role in hearing health care and helping people live their lives to the fullest. As Cornhusker Hearing Center
looks toward a promising future of new digital technology, they
also look forward to their commitment of serving you with the
highest professional standards.
Cornhusker Hearing Center is very proud to present a special Powerpoint Slide Show titled "Acoustic Trauma" which was produced by Dawn Rosenow Anderson, Ray's daughter.
